Environmental Public Health Tracking Program

The Section of Environmental Epidemiology & Toxicology, which is housed in the Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals, Office of Public Health, received funding from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention to develop a statewide Environmental Public Health Tracking Program (EPHT). The purpose of environmental health tracking is to determine if it is possible to make a link between exposure to environmental contaminants and chronic diseases such as cancer and asthma. We are interested in educating LA residents about this program as well as provide them with information on current environmental health concerns.
